NOMINATION of Secretary position held... or should I say Position(s)
Nominations for a NEW secretary were held at the weekly Keystone Meeting, as a result two members rose to the challangel. They were Dora Lima and Kiana Debarros. After voting to claim the postion the results, were a surprising TIE! Yes a TIE... and since both individuals showed such dedication to serve, it was worked out that they BOTH are now co-chair of the Secretary postion within the club Club. I'd like to offically congratulate them both on their new positions. Congratulations Dora and Kiana! |
1st Community Service Project Chosen! ** UPDATE **
STATUS: COMPLETE Okay so we choose our first community Project for Diverse-City!. And it went over better than we would have ever thought. It was a GREAT way to give back... and we had a lot of fun! Martin Luther King Day was a day where we brought kids from our Club to celebrate in a very special way. We volunteered our time with approximately 250 other volunteers to help GIFTS-to-GIVE and sort through the many donations within an area the size of a football field. Nelson with Dominon's Pizza came through yet again to donate food for approximately 300 people. And I have to say... their new pizza is amazing! We can't complain, we helped by donating our time... and we got to eat for free. The event actually worked well for both Diverse-City and Gift's-to-Give as an opportunity presented itself. We were asked if we could provide ongoing support in community service to Gifts-to-Gife. Although we're going to do be doing many community service projects in the future, we happy to say that Gifts-to-Give will be a regular part of our service commitment. That being said.... until next time. Check back as we're going to be choosing another community service project REAL SOON! |
